A warm welcome awaits you in Sixt Fer à Cheval, a ski and hiking resort acclaimed 'Grand site de France'. A magnificent area of unspoilt natural beauty situated one hour from Geneva, Chamonix and Annecy.

Chalet Shanti

'Shanti' means 'peace' in Sanscrit and peace is what you experience here where the only sounds come from the waterfalls, the mountain rivers and the birds. In front of you the garden, trees, mountains and a beautiful waterfall beside the ski track at the end of its 14 kilometre run from Flaine.
Winter Activities
Cross Country and Alpine Skiing + other activities. In Winter you can put on your skis after a 5 minute walk from the chalet and either take the cross country ski track or Sixt's Alpine ski tracks. Sixt is a small family resort where tracks go from beginner to black and where there are seldom queues. It is a ten minute drive by car or ski-bus to Samoëns ski lifts which enable you to enjoy the 267 kilometres of down-hill ski tracks which link the resorts of Samoëns, Morillon, Les Carroz, Flaine and Sixt.This superb mountain area is called 'Le Grand Massif'.
There is a ski-school and also mountain guides in Sixt. Cross country skiing is also well developed and the beautifully groomed tracks go though idyllic scenery especially in the Fer à Cheval nature reserve area. Above Samöens you can ski with a view of Mont Blanc.
Other Activities.
It's also possible to walk, to walk on snow shoes, or fly, equipped with skis, in a paraglider.
Summer activities.
In Summer you can leave the chalet on foot and go on magnificent hikes
which take you past waterfalls and lakes frequented by marmots, mountain goats and chamois. Besides hiking there are many other activities for you : white-water rafting, paragliding, hang-gliding, horse riding, cycling or mountain-bike riding, tennis, swimming, rock climbing, canyonning, blueberry and mushroom gathering etc. Competitions are organised for hiking , mountain-bike riding and tennis. Guides are always at hand to accompany you if you so desire.

Accommodation

For all these activities, or just for a good rest, I look forward to welcoming you to my chalet where you will have at your disposal a new flatlet of 15 sq metres with a sunny terrace and garden where a table with a sunshade, 2 relax chairs and a barbecue await you.
It is suitable for 2 people. A small child could eventually be accommodated as well.
There is a fully equiped kitchenette, a bathroom with shower, handbasin and W.C. A clic-clac sofa which makes a double bed, a chair which can open out to make a spare bed, a big clothes cupboard and a T.V. / video + cassettes of films in English.
Phone messages can be left for you on my phone. Luggage, skis, bikes etc can be stored in an adjoining room.
The entrance to the flatlet is completely independant. It is visible in the winter picture of the chalet on the lower left hand side (see above)
Parking is not a problem. There are restuarants nearby.

FORMULA 1
Bed and Breakfast plus self-catering facilities

With breakfast and linen provided and the final cleaning done for you.
The breakfast is self-service and à la carte: Croissants, fresh bread and homemade jam are brought to you each morning and you make your own tea/coffee etc with the ingrediants provided. In winter the electricity isn't include in price.*
Prices are for two people for a week from Saturday 5p.m. (negotiable) to the following Saturday at 10a.m. and include all the services mentioned above.
HIGH SEASON (Christmas school holidays and from the beginning of February, March (until 26), July and August.)
Weekly reservations only are accepted from Saturday to Saturday
One week : 410 Euros - 5% reduction for a second week
LOW SEASON (January (8 at 29), after March 26, April, May, June, September, October, November, December before Christmas.)
The formula in the night is available only except the school holidays
One night : 60 Euros - One week : 380 Euros

FORMULA 2
Self-catering only
No breakfast but with linen provided.

Prices are for 2 people and they include linen and but not electricity in winter*.
You do the final cleaning. (Unless you opt to have it done for 30 Euros)
HIGH SEASON (for the periods see formula 1) Weekly reservations only are accepted from Saturday 5 p.m. (negotiable) to the following Saturday.10a.m.
One week : 350 Euros - 5% reduction for the second week.
LOW SEASON (for the periods see formula 1)
One night : 49 Euros - One week : 300 Euros

Self-catering only
No breakfast and no linen provided.

Prices are for 2 people and they don't include
electricity*.You do the final cleaning. (unless you opt to have it done for 30 Euros.)
HIGH SEASON (for the periods see formula 1)
Weekly reservations only are accepted From Saturday 5 p.m. (negotiable) to the following Saturday 10 a.m. One week : 300 Euros
LOW SEASON (for the periods see formula 1)
One night : 40 Euros - One week : 250 Euros

* electricity : 0.14 cts of euros a KW.

HOW TO BOOK.

Send me a deposit cheque in Euros for 80 Euros or for an equivalent amount in your own currency.
(When you are here I will return your cheque and you can give me the full amount in Euros.)
Alternatively you could send a bank draft for 80 Euros to my account in France : I will send you the details.
If you cancel less than a month before your booking I will keep the deposit unless another tenant books your period. In this case or for an early cancellation the deposit is refundable.
My acknowledgement of your deposit onfirms your booking and our email correspondence replaces a contract.

ACCESS.
1. By public transport :
Take a flight to Geneva and a SAT bus from the airport or the station to Sixt. I will meet you at your arrival in Sixt. Take a train to Cluses and a bus from Cluses to Sixt. (40 minutes) Ask me for the times of the SAT buses
2. By car.
Take the motorway which by-passes Geneva and go towards Chamonix. Exit at Cluses Scionzier.
Follow the signs to Samoens. At Samoens follow the signs to Sixt. In Sixt take the second bridge towards Salvagny. Just after you pass the chairlift on your left, there's a sign on your right saying 'Maison Neuve' shortly after that to the right you have 'Chalets de Sixt' indicated on a covered car park. Take the internal road to the end and park. Chalet Shanti. No 14 is on your right.
